Deal profile | Gadens advises Football Victoria on its lease of the new world class Home of the Matildas facility at La Trobe University

Gadens was engaged by Football Victoria to assist in negotiating a long term ground lease at La Trobe University, Bundoora, which is earmarked to be the ‘Home of the Matildas’, the Australian Women’s football team. With the planning phase well underway, the new facility is set to be completed prior to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and will serve as the future headquarters of Football Victoria.

The complex project will include a marquee pitch with grandstand seating, four other pitches, a gymnasium and wet recovery area, medical and rehabilitation centre, meeting areas and a player lounge.

Gadens also advised Football Victoria on its Strategic Relationship Agreement with La Trobe University, which establishes a framework for FV and the University to deepen their long term partnership, and the construction related agreements necessary to establish the facility.
