News | Gadens lawyer takes home top spot in 30 Under 30 awards for second year
15 June 2021
Gadens is proud to announce Senior Associate Martin Nguyen has been named winner of the Banking and Finance category at the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards for the second year in a row.
Martin specialises in commercial property and corporate banking transactions and providing regulatory advice, and being named a 30 Under 30 winner is a testament to Martin’s dedication and passion for his practice.
Over the last 12 months, Martin has demonstrated his innovation, initiative and leadership, especially in response to COVID-19. Identifying key challenges presented at the onset of the pandemic, Martin pivoted the focus of the team’s practice and redesigned internal processes to continue to provide our clients with outstanding service. Martin is the ‘go-to’ lawyer in the team, is an established expert on banking and finance law, and is a key player in the firm’s long-standing relationships with many of our key banking clients.
A rare achievement to be crowned back-to-back winner in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards – that recognise and celebrate ‘the best and brightest in Australia’s emerging generation of leaders in law’ – Martin was awarded the top spot for the Banking and Finance category in 2020 and 2021.
Commenting on his achievement, Martin said: “I know this award is meant to be an individual acknowledgement, but I hope people appreciate that this award is really a reflection of my incredibly supportive and hardworking team, and the faith and trust our clients have placed in us to help facilitate their goals. Without both, I would not have had the opportunity to do the good work I have been recognised for.”
Partner Peter Grotjan, head of the Gadens Banking and Finance Group, commented, “Martin is extremely intelligent, driven and the best example of living our Gadens culture and values. He is a worthy winner of this award. Congratulations, Martin!”
Gadens Associates Lisa Haywood and Karena Leung were also finalists at this year’s awards in the Competition, Trade and Regulation and Real Estate categories, respectively. See a full list of the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 2021 winners and finalists here.
