Andrew heads Brisbane’s specialised IT and Procurement Group.
With more than 12 years’ experience advising on some of the most important core systems and business transformation projects in Australia, Andrew offers clients a wealth of expertise on all aspects of IT and procurement law. He is highly regarded for the commercial and pragmatic advice that he provides, with a specific focus on strategic procurement and the development, negotiation and implementation of complex contracts. Andrew also regularly advises clients on software licensing and support contracts, ICT services, cloud computing and data centre arrangements.
Andrew has acted for an impressive range of public and private sector organisations on major systems implementations and outsourcing projects especially enterprise resource planning (ERP) licensing and implementation. He is particularly experienced in business transformation for both the public and private sector. Andrew is also very experienced in government contracting, having advised on the development of the Government Information Technology Contracting (GITC) Framework in Queensland and the equivalent framework in New South Wales (Procure IT).
Andrew was extensively involved with one of the largest business-driven ICT projects ever undertaken by Brisbane City Council, advising on its commercial strategy, drafting and negotiating a transformation services agreement covering design, build, infrastructure and support services, as well as drafting and negotiating licensing and support agreements for their core applications, including SAP. He also advised the NSW Government on the acquisition of finance and HR/payroll systems from SAP, and advised the Spotless Group on the procurement of its core finance and payroll system, which included licensing and maintenance as well as the parallel negotiation of a separate implementation services agreement.
