Biography
Matthew acts for clients in high-value construction and infrastructure disputes, including residential and commercial buildings, data centres and civil works projects. He represents contractors, principals, developers/owners of hotels, and government bodies in litigation, domestic arbitration, expert determination and adjudication.
Matthew’s work includes advising clients on contractual claims, defences and cross-claims involving delay and disruption, variations, payment claims and adjudication, contractual breaches and building standards compliance. He is actively involved in building regulation law reform sitting on the Property Council Building Regulations Committee. Matthew is accessible and combines technical insight with practical strategies to achieve commercially sound outcomes for clients, and is known for his ability to distil complexity into clear advice and deliver solutions that protect client interests while advancing project objectives.
