Rob advises banks, insolvency practitioners and other stakeholders on all forms of external administration, with a particular focus on contentious insolvency and recovery matters where commercial clarity and decisive strategy are critical.
Biography
Rob has extensive litigation experience across all jurisdictions, including the High Court of Australia, and regularly advises on complex recovery proceedings, court applications for directions, preference and insolvent trading claims, proof of debt disputes and significant Corporations Act matters.
Rob has made a substantial contribution to the insolvency profession. He has been a member of ARITA for more than 35 years, has served as Chair of the Law Council of Australia’s Insolvency & Restructuring Committee, and continues to be involved in law reform initiatives and lecturing practitioners in his field of expertise.

Advised directors on all aspects of one of Australia’s most significant voluntary administrations, including directors’ duties, ASIC investigations, insolvent trading risk, Deeds of Company Arrangement, grouping and pooling issues and associated litigation. -
Korda Mentha
Advised as administrators of the multi entity Stockford Group of Companies involving the sale of over 40 businesses, asset pooling considerations, Deeds of Company Arrangement and managing litigation arising from the administration. -
Major Australian trading bank
Advised on premier building and consulting debt including strategy, litigation and sale of a heavily polluted near complete residential development in Brunswick whilst not taking possession. -
Mining group
Acted for directors in defence of a liquidator’s insolvent trading claim valued at approximately $34m, including advising on directors’ and officers’ insurance and pre litigation strategy. -
Dye & Co.
Advised in relation to Waratah Group of Companies involving its trustee application, funding arrangements with the Commonwealth, claims against various debtors and secured creditors. -
Traffic Technologies
Advised the directors on their obligations, safe harbour and various claims against the company prior to liquidation.
