Highly-regulated and competitive, Australia’s banking and finance industry is rapidly changing and as a result the ability to deliver greater efficiencies, improved customer service and innovative solutions is becoming increasingly important.
As one of the only legal firms appointed to the panels of each of the 4 major Australian banks, Gadens has a long-standing history of advising not only the major trading banks but also numerous investment banks and other financial institutions.
Gadens’ Banking and Finance Team is one of the largest in the country with dedicated teams across residential lending, commercial and business lending, corporate and institutional lending and loan recovery. The insights and knowledge that these teams have allows us to provide a ‘cradle to grave’ offering to our banking and financial services clients. Through this expertise, we think about products and opportunities arising from law reform, the lending process and how we can assist to facilitate easier transactions, and the recovery process and how we can improve the impact that process has on customers. In undertaking our work, we focus firmly on the bank’s customers and ultimately how we can assist in improving the overall customer experience.
With over 150 years’ experience, Gadens has an established track record across the full range of banking and finance matters. Demonstrating our expertise, we have lead the mortgage industry for over 30 years and also act on more real estate, property and construction finance matters in comparison to any other Australian law firm.
Widely recognised as a leader in technology in the legal sector, we are well-known and respected for its ongoing research and development of legal services products. Focused on the financial services sector, Gadens Portfolio Solutions (GPS) is a suite of online business-to-business, legal analysis and management tools that offer an advanced method of conducting and managing legal work flows. The GPS suite of products includes GPS Lending for loan document preparation and GPS Recoveries, which manages the debt recovery process. Many of our banking clients use GPS as an intuitive and natural interface for managing legal matters, better analysing portfolio performance, managing emerging risks and identify trends in their portfolios across the country. GPS is used by clients, Gadens’ staff and other law firms. GPS, combined with our offshore legal offering in Manila, allows us to provide a cost-effective offering for clients in the financial services sector.
Gadens was also one of the first law firms to use the Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) platform, and have been involved with PEXA since it ran the pilot project. Gadens now consistently processes more PEXA transactions than any other law firm.
