Gadens acted for the parent company of Lightning Broadband, Lynham Networks Pty Ltd, in relation to its 100% sale to Superloop Limited (ASX:SLC) for $165m in cash consideration.
The transaction will see Superloop acquire Lightning Broadband’s open-access wholesale Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) network, comprising approximately 54,000 secured lots across multiple Australian states and territories, and expand Superloop’s Smart Communities division to a contracted footprint of approximately 170,000 lots. The acquisition also includes Lightning Broadband’s retail and wholesale broadband operations, with around 14,000 active services. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected in Q4 FY26.
This strategic sale represents a significant milestone for Lynham Networks and further consolidates Superloop’s position as a leading national fibre challenger in the Australian telecommunications sector.
Commenting on the transaction, Jeremy Rich, CEO of Lightning Broadband said:
“This transaction marks an exciting new chapter for Lightning Broadband. We are proud of the network and community we have built, and we believe Superloop is well positioned to take the business to new heights, delivering even greater value to customers and partners across Australia”
