One of our Indigenous Interns Kathryn Dorante was fortunate enough to be elected the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Officer in the Education Portfolio of the QUT Law Society for this year. Since the beginning of the semester, Kathryn has organised a number of different events, including the Clerkship Symposium, Meet the Profession evening, First Year’s Lunch and a Women in Law evening. Kathryn is currently in the process of coordinating the annual Reconciliation Week breakfast in recognition of this year’s theme: ‘Don’t Keep History a Mystery.’
The QUT Law Society acts as an integral link between industry, faculty and students. The aim of the society is to provide these opportunities to further the interests of QUT Faculty of Law students and to progress their future careers.
