Andrew is a Partner in our Property, Construction & Planning Group. He has extensive experience in commercial property transactions representing both institutional clients and private clients. He has developed a broad commercial property practice with a strong emphasis on the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties, the preparation and negotiation of leases for commercial, retail and industrial premises and providing land tax advice.

Whilst predominantly acting on behalf of sophisticated and informed landlord clients, Andrew has also acted on behalf of tenants in relation to major commercial leases which has contributed to his understanding of the different commercial objectives and requirements of landlords and tenants.

Andrew has been nominated by his peers as a “Best Lawyer” in the category of Real Property Law in 2016 and 2017. Andrew has also been recommended by Doyle’s Guide in the area of Leading Property and Real Estate Lawyers and Leading Leasing Lawyers in Victoria for 2017.

Specific assignments

  • Providing a range of services to Australian Unity Property Limited including general property advice across the industrial and commercial property portfolio and acting on the sale of BBC Hardware in Queensland and purchase of commercial and retail property in Allara Street, Canberra.
  • Preparation and negotiation of lease for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.
  • Acting for prominent property syndicators in relation to the acquisition of properties across Australia.
  • Commercial leasing of premises within 140 William Street, Melbourne; Collins Place Tower (35 Collins Street, Melbourne); and Bourke Place (600 Bourke Street, Melbourne).
