Brett has more than 25 years of experience across defence, national security, government, and private enterprise. His career spans special operations service, senior executive leadership, and legal practice; an uncommon combination that enables him to bridge operational, commercial, and regulatory domains with credibility and precision.

Brett’s defence foundations were built during 15 years as an Army Officer. A Duntroon graduate with distinction, he served as a qualified leader in the Special Operations Command and later as an operational Legal Officer, deploying multiple times and earning the highest commendation for superior performance when deployed on complex operations.

In industry, Brett has held senior roles with ASX‑100 companies and led national defence businesses, including as CEO and Managing Director. In the legal profession, he has established and grown capable Defence & National Security Practice teams, including now as a Partner at Gadens.

Brett advises organisations operating in the defence and national security ecosystem across AUKUS nations, with expertise in market entry, commercial & legal strategy, regulatory compliance, and sovereign capability development. He is the Chairman of Wandering Warriors.
