James has over 20 years’ experience in all aspects of banking, restructuring, turnaround and insolvency law. James regularly advises Australia’s leading lenders, non-bank lenders and debt funds, insolvency practitioners and corporates in relation to financing arrangements, informal workouts, external administrations, insolvency litigation, security enforcement, and related issues including safe harbour and directors’ duties.

James is a full member of ARITA, Insol and the TMA.

• FTI as administrators of Sara Lee
• BDO as administrators of Navarre Minerals
• KPMG as receivers and managers of Halo Manufacturing
• Electro Optics Systems (EOS) in connection with a successful debt restructuring
• The Star in connection with the i-Prosperity liquidation
• Numerous financiers in relation to various large corporate loan exposures and debt restructurings – this involves work ranging from consensual restructurings, refinancings, drafting forbearance and standstill arrangements, to the enforcement of securities
• KPMG as administrators of LJ Hooker
• Dinimus Capital Fund (DCF) in connection with the recapitalisation of Rapid Loans through a deed of company arrangement
• Deloitte as receivers and managers of Coburg Quarter
