Paul specialises in advising on major projects and construction. He has advised on a wide range of projects, ranging from procurement, supply, refurbishment, minor works and civil works contracts through to large scale infrastructure projects and iconic mixed use developments.

He has significant project administration and management experience ‘through the life cycle’ of a construction project.

Paul can assist with:

  • Pre-contract tender reviews and risk advice.
  • Advice on project structures and contracting arrangements across a broad range of sectors including residential, commercial and industrial projects, hotels, shopping centres, defence, health, education, transport and energy.
  • The drafting and negotiation of head contracts, subcontracts, consultancy deeds and supply and procurement contracts.
  • Adjoining owner agreements and financier tripartites.
  • Project advice and claims management during the construction phase of a project.
  • Project Trust Accounts and regulatory advice, including in relation to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (QBCC Act).
  • Advising on the local, state and federal government regulatory aspects of construction projects.

Paul first joined Gadens’ construction team in Brisbane in 2007 and re-joined Gadens in 2022 following a seven year tenure as Regional Legal Counsel for a leading global construction contractor.

Paul was recognised as one of Australian’s inhouse leading construction and infrastructure lawyers during his time in house (Doyles Guide 2019).
