Rachel brings deep expertise across the full spectrum of insolvency, restructuring and commercial disputes, acting for financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and corporates across contentious restructures, administrations and enforcement actions.
Rachel has extensive experience in corporate and commercial disputes, with a strong focus on insolvency, reconstruction and recovery. She advises clients across the full lifecycle of financial distress, from informal restructures and formal administrations through to enforcement of security interests and contested recoveries.
She acts for receivers, liquidators, trustees, statutory authorities, financial institutions, shareholders and insolvency professionals at both State and Commonwealth levels, as well as directors and companies navigating financial difficulty. Rachel regularly advises on uncommercial transactions, preferences, insolvent trading, and on broader commercial disputes involving trading assets and real property.
In addition to her client work, Rachel contributes to the profession through her active involvement with Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Queensland (WIRQ) and the Queensland Law Society.

- Alvarez & Marsal: Acting in their capacity as external administrators on the voluntary administration and subsequent liquidation of M.A Services Group Pty Ltd and M.A Services Property Group Pty Ltd
- Toys R Us ANZ: Advised the board on its restructuring options in advance of the company’s entry into voluntary administration in June 2025. Total company debt (secured and unsecured) in excess of $45m
- Confidential client: Acted on the recapitalisation and restructuring by Deed of Company Arrangement of New Wilkie Pty Ltd (Receivers and Managers appointed (Administrators Appointed) (NWE)
- Confidential client: Advising the Board about their directors’ duties in relation to solvency, the operation of the safe harbour protections against personal liability for insolvent trading, and whether the Board has the benefit of those protections
- Confidential client: Advised various entities in an investment advisory group, and their directors, in relation to the successful development and implementation of an insolvent restructuring plan and which plan was opposed by a substantial creditor group
- Confidential client: Acted on the formulation and implementation of a safe harbour restructuring plan and advised through a period of financial and stakeholder complexity, supporting strategy development, governance compliance and director protection, including as adviser under the safe harbour regime.
