Steven is a Partner in our Employment Advisory Team. He advises clients on all aspects of employment law including contracts of employment, employment disputes, discrimination and termination claims, redundancy, transmission of business and industrial matters such as strikes, picketing and collective bargaining and Occupational Health and Safety.

Steven has extensive experience in the drafting and advising on enterprise bargaining and employment contracts. He provides strategic advice to employers on restructures, redundancies and terminations, as well as strategic advice relating to industrial disputes. He also advises liquidators, administrators and receivers on employee entitlement issues, transmission of business, award and employment obligations.

Professional affiliations include membership of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Workplace Relations section and the Law Institute of Victoria’s Commercial Litigation section.

Steven has been nominated by peers as a “Best Lawyer” in the area of Employee Benefits Law since 2014.

Specific assignments

  • Litigation and claims in the Federal Court and the AIRC under the Workplace Relations Act.
  • Advice and acting for employers in discrimination and equal opportunity complaints in the Equal Opportunity Commission and VCAT.
  • Defence of litigation under common law against employers in the State Courts.
  • Advice and defence of prosecutions in occupational health and safety matters.
