Gadens is proud of its ongoing pro bono partnership with National Justice Project and most recently, being able to support its AI-powered complaints platform Hear Me Out.
National Justice Project is a not-for-profit organisation that provides strategic legal action, law reform, education and advocacy in areas of government inaction and discrimination. Over the last few years, Gadens has supported National Justice Project in relation to the discovery of documents in legal proceedings before the courts, acceptance of referral matters and its Hear Me Out platform.
Hear Me Out is a platform powered by AI that assists users in simplifying various complaint processes, including providing them with tailored guidance as to who and how a complaint can be made. All of this is designed to increase access to justice for those who need legal support within our communities and may not have the ability to secure private legal assistance themselves. Currently the platform can assist users making complaints in New South Wales or at a Federal level.
Gadens had 46 of its lawyers assist with the collation of information on approximately 20 New South Wales and Federal organisations that were used to inform the content for the platform. It was clear from the outset that each complaint body had its own eligibility criteria and process that needed to be worked through to make a complaint. There was generally a lot of information that needed to be digested and understood, before determining if an individual was eligible to make a complaint to that body.
This is the crucial role that Hear Me Out plays. Simplifying a complex and sometimes overwhelming volume of information into a practical, user-friendly resource that individuals can access. Gadens is proud to have been able to contribute to such an incredible project, alongside several other law firms.
Speaking to Gadens involvement with Hear Me Out, Ariane Dozer, Head of Projects and Innovation at National Justice Project said:
“Hear Me Out would not be possible without the generous pro bono contributions of Gadens. Deciphering the complex myriad of complaint journeys into digestible and accessible resources is no small feat. Ensuring that the community has access to information to enforce their rights and helping to build a collective story of the systemic challenges in our community is so important and we are so grateful to be able to do this work.”
