We regularly advise clients on significant property acquisitions and holding restructures, stamp duty, land tax, goods and services tax (GST), compulsory acquisitions of land, settlement negotiations, challenging assessed land valuations and representation in appeal proceedings. Over the years, we have advised numerous real estate investment groups and superannuation funds on matters relating to the structure of property investments and developments for commercial and industrial properties as well as shopping centre holdings and residential subdivision projects.
We regularly advise our clients in relation to the compulsory acquisitions of land, settlement negotiations, challenging assessed land valuations and representation in appeal proceedings. We actively assist clients throughout a valuation cycle, including advising on grounds of objection to valuations (for the purpose of achieving land tax, council rate and fire services levy reductions), reviewing land tax assessments to identify legal errors and undertaking land valuation and/or administrative appeals.
