Mark is a Partner in our Property, Construction & Planning Group. His practice covers all aspects of commercial property and property related matters, with an emphasis on the development, sale, purchase and leasing of retail, commercial and industrial property.

He has extensive experience in providing advice on major property transactions including structuring transactions in a tax, stamp duty and GST effective manner.

Mark advises institutional and corporate property owners and managers on a wide range of issues including planning and development, due diligence investigations, strategic management and lease enforcement.

He holds degrees in Law and Commerce. Mark has been nominated by his peers as a “Best Lawyer” in the area of Real Property Law since 2016. He has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a “Leading Leasing Lawyer” and a “Leading Property & Real Estate Lawyer” in Victoria for 2019.

Specific assignments

  • Acting for AMP in the sale of Coles Group and Myer including advising on issues of consent, development, leasing and taxation as well as the acquisition of Ocean Keys and Casey Central Shopping Centres.
  • Acting for AMP, Centro, ISPT, Aspen, Orchard, Satterley, Cedar Woods and QIC in respect of the redevelopment of retail, commercial and residential properties.
  • Acting in the purchase and sale of properties Australia-wide into various listed and wholesale trusts for AMP, Centro, ISPT, Multiplex, Stockland and Aspen.
  • Assisting the co-owners of Knox City and Knox Ozone Shopping Centres in obtaining amendments to the Knox Planning Scheme and advising on all expansion and development issues.
  • Acting for a number of landowners in relation to land tax grouping and valuation objections.
